'Mito March: Kure for Kirkland'
has to date raised over $150,000.00 net revenues for mitochondrial disease research at SickKids
Hospital. You will meet enthusiastic people who really care about this critical health issue. Give the
gift of your skills and talents and help this important cause. Your biggest benefit will
be knowing that you are really making a difference!

Adults
Walk
Day Volunteers: 7:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., Sunday
May 25, 2008 and one brief training session during the week prior to the event.
Organizing Committee Volunteers: One Sunday per month for two hours 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Sponsorship Committee: Provide contacts, approach your own employer with a Mito
March presentation, do research on local businesses.
School
Committee: Be
a liaison and promote fundraising and awareness in local schools.
Team Recruitment Committee:
Be the liaison between
corporate and private teams and Mito March, forward information to the Team Captains as required, work with other Committee
members to find potential team leaders.
Appreciation
Committee: Co-ordinate volunteer and sponsor recognition following
the event
Metabolism researchers at SickKids talk of a very realistic possibility of developing drug treatments for mitochondrial diseases
if research funding can be found.
This hope, along with the highly positive impact from the
first 3
events has reaffirmed our committment
to even greater fundraising efforts in 2008!
